Sri Lanka intercepts Russian plane with 200 passengers

The plane had 200 passengers, including insurance workers. An official at Colombo’s Bandaranaike International Airport said the plane was intercepted by a Colombo Commercial Court just before departure. Russia’s largest airline, Aeroflot, has been detained.
Aeroflot shut down all international flights last March in the face of sanctions following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. However, the company resumed flights to Colombo in April.
