At Red Road Eid celebration Mamta Slams opponents and shows solidarity with Muslims

HnExpress Mayank Chakravarty, Kolkata : After a gap of two years, people offered namaz of Eid-ul-Fitr on Red Road in Kolkata and Eid prayers were conducted on Tuesday morning. As Covid cases have dipped across West Bengal. The state government has allowed the offering of namaz on Red Road for Eid in 2022.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee participated in the prayer for Eid-ul-Fitr held on a rain-drenched Red Road in Kolkata. After Prayers Banerjee asserted in her address that the current situation in the country is not ‘fine’ and said, “In the near future, we have to fight against the power which is trying to break the country. We pray that we will remove that power.



“He further added “All of us need to stay together. The divide and rule policy which is happening in the country is not right. The politics of isolation is not good. We want unity. We are Indians. We have right to stay together. Bengal will show the way of peace. Will not do anything that will make you sad. We will live, fight together. Have faith in me. I have never broken anyone’s trust in my life.

My parents have taught me to take everyone and work. Make your children doctors, professors, IAS IPS. Our ADG is Jamim Shamim, our minister is Firhad Hakim. We work with everyone.” Later Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee meet kin of Rizwanur Rehman whose alleged murder years back stirred a row all across the state.
