Rotary Club of  Calcutta Lake town’s newest social project ‘Sharod Samaj Kalyan Purashkar 2018’ & ‘Padadhani’

HnExpress Subhabrata Mukherjee, Kolkata : Rotary club of Calcutta Lake town is coming up with their newest social project called ‘padadhani’ along with ‘Sharad samaj kalyan puroshkar 2018’. Rotary club is very much famous for the social wotk they do round the year to benefit the people falling in BPL category. This time around they have came up with the project called ‘Padadhani’ to help child belonging to BPL category suffering from a disease namely ‘Clubfoot’. The project is masterminded by club president Kakali Nath and convenor of the project Surajit Saha and Sampa Das. For the purpose of treating people suffering from clubfoot disease in a subsidised rate Rotary club of  Calcutta Lake Town have signed a MOU with Institute of Child Health. Dr. Apurba Ghosh, Dr. Suranjan Nag and Mr. Debaprasad Sarkar have associated themslves with the project called ‘Padadhani’ to treat people with clubfoot disease.

Speaking on the eve of the occassion convener of the project ‘padadhani’ Surajit Saha said ” 1st October at ICCR the official announcement of the project ‘padadhani’ along with the project named ‘Sharod Samaj Kalyan puroshkar 2018’ will be given away by the authorities of Rotary Club of  Calcutta Lake town. The pujo committes will be judged based on the social work they have done through oit the year not by their lights,  pandals and themes. 150 clubs from in and around Kolkata has already registered their name for the event. Puja like Naktala udayan sangha, Chetla Agrani Club, Bosepukur, Sovabazar, Baghbazar sarbojanin have given their consent for the event.

Naktala even officially gave permission to place a box near puja pandal to collect whatever money possible to help the underprivileged section of the society. The cost of the operation varies from 10000-50000 . Rotary club through the project ‘padadhani’ will be sponsoring the money for the child’s operation suffering from clubfoot disease aged between 0-6 years of age. Each year around 200-250 people visit Institute of Child Health with the same disease for treatment. This treatment will be provided and the whole amount which the individual is unable to collect will be supported by Rotry club Lake town.”
