Adibashi socio- educational & cultural association to organise a mass rally of Santals in Kolkata
HnExpress Subhabrata Mukherjee, Kolkata : Adibashi socio-educational and cultural association (W.B) is going to organise a mass rally on 24th September in Kolkata to protect the constitutional rights of Santals in West Bengal. On the eve of that they organised a press conference in press club to brief the media aboit their 11 point agenda that they are demanding before the government .
∆ Immediate recruitment of permanent teachers from Santhal community in Santali medium schools for primary,upper primary,secondary and higher secondary level.
∆ Stop the practice of non Santali teachers in Santali medium schools.
∆ Arrangement for ‘Ol-Chiki ‘ script from primary to university level of education for the Santali community to study.
∆ Immediate appointment of Teachers and Professors to teach Santali where it has been introduced since long.
∆ Arrangement of Santali text books in ‘Ol-Chiki’ script for students from class I-XII.
∆ Introduction of ‘Ol chiki’ script for students to study in B.ed ,M.ed,D.el.ed courses.
∆ Opposition to government’s effort to include ‘Mahato/Kurmi’ community in the list of Scheduled tribes of West Bengal.
∆ Judicial enquiry,investigation of rape case of Santali girl students in Eklabya residential school in Jhargram and Raigunge and order examplart punishment for the culprits.
∆ Religious minority status for the Santalis.
∆ Immediate establishment of ‘Pandit Raghunath Murmu Staye Santali University’.
∆ 30th June,1855 the first Santali freedom movement of India should be declared as holiday along with establishment of statue of Sidu Kanu the heroic leader.
