HnExpress Partha Roy, Kolkata ঃ Mauritius, an island nation, is a sparking crystal in the turquoise waters of the Indian ocean. Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority organised road shows in Chandigarh, Pune, Nagpur, Hyderabad & Kolkata to promote destination awareness. A total of 20 Mauritian partners participated in the road show. When asked about connectivity between India and Mauritius Mr. Arvind Bundhum, Director MTPA mentioned that in order to attract large number of tourists from any country air connectivity is must and from India there is only one carrier that flies directly to Mauritius.

This needs to increase considering the growth from Indian market. Mr. Bundhum further said “There is scope for one more airline to fly to Mauritius directly from India very soon considering the growth of Indians travelling to Mauritius. Currently, Air Mauritius operating flights five times a week from Mumbai twice from Delhi and once a week each from Bengaluru and Chennai plans to add more flights to the increase capacity. We can see the growing interest in the aviation sector and willing to support any Indian carrier willing to fly to Mauritius.

Mr. Vivek Anand Country Manager MTPA said that Roadshows are the most efficient and cost effective way to meet a large no.of quality agents. It is a must for educators wanting to connect, build and maintain long term partnerships. He added that Mauritius has received footfalls of more than 85000 visitors from India last year. India is one of the most crucial &promising tourism market for Mautitius.

In 2019 we will continue show casing “Mauritius Beyond the Beach”. This will be done through advertising campaign to be launched soon. Mauritius is an oasis of peace and tranquility Mauritius offers wide range of touristic activities from destination wedding, golfing, trekking, submarine drive, deep sea fishing, kite surfing, sea karting, dolphin watching, scuba driving and many more.
