“Government of West Bengal scheme ‘Prachesta’ To Provide Financial Assistance”

HnExpress 26/04/2020, Amrita Sikdar, Kolkata : It is notified by the government of West Bengal that they will introduce a new scheme called Prachesta to provide financial assistance for labour, daily wages earner, worker who has lost her/his employment due to outbreak of corona virus and lockdown.

Deliver daily weges earns or any other unorganised labour does not have any other alternative Substainable source of income will get financial assistance of one time payment of rupees 1000. The labour, daily wage earner, worker should not be a beneficiary of any social scheme of the state, like social pension scheme — ‘old age, widow, disability pension and Samajik Suraksha Yojana (SSY) etc will not come under the scheme of Prachesta’.

Eligible candidates have to submit application to the District Magistrate, Commissioner or ward councillor of KMC for Kolkata Corporation area, BDO in rural areas and SDO in urban areas. All eligible application will be digitalised and ID uploaded in Prachesta link in the State portal—(www.jaibangla.wb.gov.in) within 15 April 2020 to 15th may 2020 by the individual personally.

If the District Magistrate is satisfied that the application is genuine the applicant, have no other alternative then the applicant will get the benefit. The labourer, daily wages/worker of West Bengal are the only beneficial under the Prachesta Scheme .
